In January 2003, I finally overcame temptation (by yielding to it, of course) and bought a digital camera. After several gray and rainy weekends, it finally cleared up enough to give me a chance to wander around the Houston Arboretum and try it out. My first photo is at the top of this page. Additional photos are organized by topic, which more or less means both chronologically and geographically.
In case anyone cares, the camera is a Minolta DiMAGE S404. I selected it after reading way too many reviews at Digital Photography Review and Imaging Resource. The Imaging Resource site has a particularly useful tool in their Comparometer, which lets you bring up side-by-side photos of the same scenes shot with different digital cameras.
All photos linked to from this page are © Copyright, Kevin R. Coombes, 2003-2005. The terms of the copyright are similar to the terms of the GNU Copyleft. You can do almost anything you want with the photos. In particular, you can make your own copies; you can print them; you can modify them; you can give them away. You can even sell copies (assuming you could find someone who wanted to pay money for a photo they could freely download themselves). However, there are some things you cannot do:
